About
Leander Abend is an independent label for sophisticated workwear and leather goods. Rooted in western and utilitarian clothing and refined into tailored, elegant silhouettes.
A permanent core collection is completed by individual limited pieces.
Every garment and bag is designed, patterned, and manufactured in our studio in Wuppertal, Germany.
Each piece that leaves our hands meets our uncompromising standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Currently all of our collection is available as bespoke only. However, there will be a general release of standart sizes in the future.
shape
Most of our styles begin with a rough idea or sketch and are developed through the creation of an initial prototype.
Pattern cutting forms the foundation of our design process. We work with the body’s natural proportions, seeking balance through precise fit, construction, and comfort.
While much of our initial inspiration is drawn from workwear and military clothing, we strip away their conventional boxiness, replacing it with more streamlined silhouettes.
sustainability
Sustainability is a natural result of how we design and manufacture.
Every garment is made to order, nothing is overproduced.
Most of our fabrics and trims are sourced directly from Japanese and European manufacturers or selected vintage materials. All leather hides are purchased locally, primarily from dead stock.
This results in a very short supply chain and ensures high quality textiles, leathers, and hardware.
We believe that a well made garment, designed to fit its wearer, will last far longer than anything else.
repair & care
We believe in the quality of our products and provide complimentary repairs for manufacturing related issues for up to two years after your initial purchase.
Every garment deserves a second chance, or a third. That’s why we offer our sashiko repair service for items purchased from us, as well as for your personal jeans and jackets.
Using vintage fabrics or denim patches, worn areas are repaired and reinforced by hand.
